The Voice Of Mrs. Krabappel Has Died

Marcia Wallace, the voice of Edna Krabappel has died, aged 70. Mrs. Wallace died yesterday. According to the guys over at The Simpsons, her character will now be retired from the show.

Al Jean, executive producer of The Simpsons went on record saying “we intend to retire her irreplaceable character”.

Earlier on in the year it was revealed that the executive producers planned on killing off one of the characters. Mrs. Krabappel was not this character.

At the time this was announced, they said that the person who plays the character they intended to kill off won an Emmy Award for playing this particular character. The show has so far won 25 Emmy Awards.

As far as I can tell, they don’t know if this will affect the potential killing off of the character the originally intended to. If you guys have any more information on this ease leave a comment bellow and I will edit this post as and when I get more information.

  1. Such sad news! I would anticipate they would react to her passing as they did with Phil Hartman. After Mr. Hartman was murdered, the character of Lionel Hutz was retired from the show. I don’t recall any mention of his passing other than a dedication at the end of an episode.

  2. Thank you mrs krabappel……… you will be missed and thank you for many many smiles……. thoughts and prayers to your family
