FXX have announced that they will show all 552 episodes of The Simpsons later this summer. As part of a 12 day marathon, the network will show every episode from the beginning, right up to the season 25 finale. Beginning on August 21st, the marathon showing will continue on through the Labor Day weekend, September 1st.
FXX also announced that they’ll be airing the show in 4 hour blocks on Sundays this fall leading up to the season 26 première later this year on FOX.
It’s thought the announcement of the marathon has to do with the networks recent acquisition of licensing to air it on FXX. The deal is believed to have cost FXX an estimated $500 million. You’ll also be able to stream episodes of the show on their app FXNow beginning in August.
