Keep Track Of Your Progress

NOTE: It will be easier to accumulate gold further into the event as you upgrade your castle giving you the ability to recruit more nerds for battles. The event takes place over 48 days in total but I calculated the totals over a 47 day period as you needed 16 hours to build the first castle.

Thanks to Rory for requesting this chart!

A Guide To Nerds

Fotor0820134537MedievalTimesEventPageHome

Here’s a quick guide that should help you understand exactly how this event works. I am working on the event homepage for Medieval Times but it’s going to take some time to get it all done. I’ll get you more info on that soon! Anyway, on with the guide!

What Are Nerds?

Nerds are what you need to attack other players.

Who Can My Nerds Attack?

Your nerds can attack anyone you want! That’s right, they can attack your neighbours or a random player. To attack a random player, simply tap the sword and shield icon in the top right corner.

How Many Nerds Can Attack A Building At Once?

UPDATE: The limit, depends on the building you are attacking (Thanks Laura!)

How Long Does It Take To Attack Someone?

Well, that depends. The length of attack depends on the number of nerds you used to attack a building. Using 1 nerd means the attack will take 9 hours while using 9 nerds means the attack only take 1 hour.

What Do I Get For Attacking Other Players?

Other then the satisfaction of causing mayhem and destruction? Why gold and elixir of course!

Do I Get My Nerds Back After Battle?

Sadly, no. Once you send them to battle there is no way to get them back.

Can I Cancel An Attack After I Start One?

No, once you start an attack there is no way to stop it

How Many Times Can I Attack One Person?

You can attack 5 different buildings in each town every day

Is There A Limit To The Amount Of People I Can Attack?

No, You can attack as many different Springfield’s as you want on any given day.

When Does This Event End Again?

It ends on October 7th. That’s like 46 days to kick your friends ass! Awesome.

That brings an end to the guide to nerds. I have more info coming soon so keep an eye out for that. Enjoy your raids guys!

An Overview Of The 4th Of July 2014 Mini Event

Hey guys! EA have been spoiling us lately in regards to new content. To start things off we were given the Stonecutters event, then a new level and now a mini event – all in the space of a month. EA latest offering, the 4th of July mini event, is packed with new stuff, quests and characters! Here’s an overview of what exactly is on offer this year!

The Buildings

2 brand new buildings were released this year, the Sit n’ Rotate for an astounding $10 MILLION and Giuseppe’s Workshop. The build time for each building varies, with the workshop taking a day and the Sit n’ Rotate taking 3 days. Personally, I like the 2 new buildings because they add a bit of variety to the game and they aren’t premium! The Sit n’ Rotate is NOT limited time and will be around after the event ends (in theory)!

The Characters

2 new characters have graced our Springfield’s with their presence just in time for the celebrations – Giuseppe and George Washington. Both of these characters are of course tasked and have quests associated with them, which I will talk more about below. While Giuseppe costs cash (and comes with his workshop) George Washington is a premium characters that comes with a Cherry Tree, that’s right he comes with a tree! He (and the tree), will cost you 180 doughnuts, which I think is a bit much for a tree, but still, I bought it because I am a completest and just couldn’t help myself!

The Decorations

No event is complete without matching decorations and this one is no different! There are five decorations up for grabs this year, with a catch – not all of them are available . . . yet! Just 2 of the 5 are available right now – the Lincoln Memorial for $10,000 and the Fireworks Barge for 80 doughnuts. Then, on July 4th, which is tomorrow, the following items will be made available for purchase:

  • American Flag – $5,600
  • Pinwheel Firework – 40 Doughnuts
  • Crate of Fireworks – 60 Doughnuts

All in all, it’s a pretty good offering this time around!

The Quests

There’s a good amount of quests to sink your teeth into this year as almost all of the available quests all have multiple parts! Here are the names of all the new quests:

  • Failure to Launch
  • Happy Independence Day
  • Washington Overtime
  • Declaration of Co-Dependence
  • Ye Olde Cherry Tree
  • Lincoln on Lincoln
  • The Red Rockets Glare Redux
  • Paranoid Android Redux
  • Bring on the Revolution

Above is a mix of freemiuim and premium quests. The full walkthroughs will be available by tomorrow night, there’s a lot to write out this time around! The walkthroughs for last years quests are available from the events page.

The Returning Stuff

Not only were EA generous with long time players, they gave newer players the chance to buy some of last years stuff again. Here’s what came back from last year:

  • Abraham Lincoln (with Log Cabin)
  • Rex Banner (with Nighthawk Diner)
  • All American Apu (Skin)
  • Liberty Bell
  • Lisa Statue of Liberty
  • American Flag
  • Pinwheel Fireworks
  • Crate of Fireworks

So, as you can see there’s a lot on offer this year and who knows what sweet treat you might get if you login tomorrow 😉

–MORE TO COME–

Could EA’s Announcement Mean Something Big Is Coming?

So, EA are releasing an exclusive character today and that I got me to start thinking. First, I tried to think about what character it could be, where they’re from, but that got me nowhere. Then I started to think about something else, the announcement itself. Then, I remembered something, EA rarely announce anything in advance! In fact, in the entire history of the game, they’ve only done it three times!

The first time, was the day before the Christmas 2012 event was released. The night before the update hit, they posted, on Facebook, that Winter was coming to Springfield very soon. The second time was in April 2013. The same week Whacking Day was released, we got an episode tie-in on the Tuesday, which players thought was strange considering we usually get them on Thursday. But, all was explained in the questline, we were told that something even better was coming on Thursday – Whacking Day. The third time something was announced in advance was in September 2013. During the final week of September, players received a small in-game update with a small questline where Homer and Lisa went looking for info on what the Halloween event might bring. At that point, it was confirmed via an in-game message that Halloween would be happening from October 1st.

Now, lets look forward to yesterdays announcement as well as some of the speculation among fans. First off, as I’ve just explained, EA rarely announce things in advance and given the history of said announcements, it’s usually pretty good. It seems unlikely that the character will be released on their own, so, what’s coming with them? That’s what most fans are speculating over. Some, who I will not name as I don’t want to get in trouble if they’re inundated with friend requests, believe it will come as part of either a level update or a Yard Sale. It’s there where opinion is divided amongst those who want a yard sale. Some believe that it will contain items exclusive to season 25 while others believe it will contain never before released items from the shows 25 year history. But, here’s the kicker, because this character’s never been seen before, either of these theories could be true!

It could have something to do with an upcoming event. One user has mention the possibility of this character being used as a way for EA to lead us into yet another event, such as the missions related to last year’s Halloween announcement. Then there are those who don’t really care what it could mean as long as new content is added.

What do you think it could be? Do you hope for one or more of the things I’ve mentioned here? Do you think it’ll be something I haven’t mentioned? All I know is, it it doesn’t come with other stuff I could very well be disappointed, but that of course depends of the context in which this character is released!

Stick with us as the release approaches for all the latest info on what could be something amazing! Also, I apologise for the really long post but there’s so much I needed to explain to you!

The Season 24 Yard Sale, What Was It?

Last year to celebrate the Season 24 finale, EA released a small event known as a ‘Yard Sale’. The Yard Sale contained some decorations and a premium, non-playable character.

The event was heavily criticised by fans because other then two items available for cash – the Laramine Vending Machine and Devil’s Doughnuts Cart – were all premium, The items released all had something to do with various episodes during the season. In fact, the Devil’s Doughnuts Cart came from the same episode as Cool Homer and the Cool /brown House.

It’s unknown if there’ll be one this year but given EA’s tendency to capitalise on everything the possibly can, it’s a safe bet we’ll see something like it again this year.

But, when can we expect the update, well given EA’s history of giving us events 5 days later then similar events in 2013, we could see it tomorrow as the Season 24 Yard Sale was released on May 16 2013, five days after that would be May 21 – tomorrow. However, it could be further delayed by the lag issue affecting many players, some of which can’t even access their games.

If we were to get a yard sale this year, what items from Season 25 would you like to see included in the game? Sound off below!

On a side note, thanks for all the well wishes in regards to my exams, it means a lot to me you guys!

Brown Bunnies In Krustyland?

Visited Krustyland recently? No? OK then! Well, on the off chance you have, you’ll noticed there’s been a bunny invasion there too! But it’s kind of pointless though because you can’t tap on them and they don’t generate any eggs for you to exchange for prizes! It’s kind of like the bunnies you see in your neighbours towns, they’re there to look at and that’s it! It must be EA’s way of including Krustyland in the event. It would be better if they gave us a prize we could actually use there though, like Halloween when we got that Kang (or Kodos) ride. Either way, Krustyland needs a major update, EA are neglecting it too much I think!
