Updated Menu Bar

I’ve updated the sites menu bar with a new tab called ‘Contact EA’. Clicking on the link will now take you directly to the Simpsons dedicated help section and give you the ability to message with tech support to try and resolve any issue you might have.

If you have any other suggestions on how I can improve the site, drop a comment below and I’ll see what I can do!

Going With The Nuclear Option

I’ve found myself in an impossible position. As I’m sure you’re all aware we’ve been getting some pretty awesome updates as of late (excluding Easter of course) with lots of awesome new stuff. So, I have all of the aforementioned awesome stuff and now I find my current layout is no longer feasible, even if more land was added. So here are my options, I could leave things the way they are now and just shove new stuff wherever they’ll fit or, I could go with the nuclear option and start from scratch again.

If I go with the nuclear option there are a number of things that I need to consider.

  • Do I wait until after the 4th of July update ends
  • Will there be a new level update before I’m done that will throw my design process into chaos?
  • Is there still a bug that could make me lose some premium, no longer available items?
  •  Will I regret it once I’ve started seeing as it’s daunting just thinking about it?

I’m also left wondering as I don’t have a final design in mind right now, should I wait until I do and then start or just go for it and see what happens? I know I’m not alone in this situation with many others facing the same problems but I could really do with some advise on how you think I should proceed.

Contacting EA – How Do I Do It?

Apu Crazed

A couple of days ago I posted about what you should do if you win a premium item that you already own, provided that you can only have one of them, such as Hans Moleman. I suggested that you contact EA, but I never actually told you how! So, here’s how;

EA customer support deal with every problem that you could have with the game. Things like missing items, lost characters and disappearing doughnuts and everything in between! But how do you get that help and what’s the best way to contact them?

Well, first of all try this: https://help.ea.com/en/the-simpsons/the-simpsons-tapped-out

This is the general help page. It’s filled with the solutions of the most common problems that players will at one point or another, come up against. Things like problems updating and missing Springfield’s.

But, if your problem is not covered here, you’ll need to contact an EA game advisor. To contact a game advisor, please click the following link: http://help.ea.com/en/contact-us/new/?product=the-simpsons-tapped-out. Once here, follow the on screen instructions and you’ll start getting the answers you want in no time!

NOTE: It can take up to 48 hours for EA to respond. It can be longer depending on a number of factors.

Noticed A Problem With Your ‘Friendship Points’ Bar?

Fotor0303230335SocialCurrencyFriendPoints

I’m sure by now many of you are already on your way collecting enough Friendship Points’ to unlock the E.A.R.L. Lighthouse but then you notice your Friendship Points Bar isn’t actually increasing! But not to worry! Your progress is still being saved. EA are aware of the issue and are looking in to it but as far as I can tell, the bar is just malfunctioning. You should be able to see your current progress by spray painting a building. If I can get an update on the issue, I’ll update you!

Why Do I See A ‘Downloading’ Box When I Visit My Neighbours?

Homer Excited

Have you seen a little ‘downloading’ box while you were visiting your neighbours and wondered what it was and more importantly, what it does! Well, the answer is very simple really, it’s your game communicating with the game servers to download the most recent version of your friends town. Sometimes, it even comes up while your logging in to your own town but it’s really hard to see because they’re only on screen for a second. So, there’s nothing to worry about when you see it and now you know why it’s there!

Check Your ”Confirm Doughnut” Spend Button!

This is just a quick reminder that you should check you ‘confirm doughnut’ spend button in your settings because it has been known to reset itself after an update! Better safe then sorry!

For those of you that don’t know how to do it, read below!

  1. Go to the build menu and tap on the “i” in the top right hand corner
  2. From there you will be taken to an options menu
  3. You can enable an option to confirm doughnut spending from here
  4. Enabling this option will initiate a confirmation prompt every time you try to spend doughnuts

The Game Is DOWN!

An Update From EA Regarding Missing Characters

This was posted on the 21st of October but I’ve been so busy I haven’t had a chance to share it until now!

The team are scanning the complete database for that issue and run the fix on every account where she is stuck. It can take a few days until all the games are fixed. Many, many people are playing this game after all.

For other characters (not Lisa or Homer) you can put the building the character came with into your inventory and back into the town again. This will reset the character.

The devs are also implementing a fix with the next build that should avoid that characters get stuck in the future. Until then they’ll run the scan and fix everyone that has the issue.

You can see the original posting on the EA forum here (clicking on the link will open a new tab) or find out how to contact EA for assistance here (clicking on the link will open a new tab).
