Updated Menu Bar

I’ve updated the sites menu bar with a new tab called ‘Contact EA’. Clicking on the link will now take you directly to the Simpsons dedicated help section and give you the ability to message with tech support to try and resolve any issue you might have.

If you have any other suggestions on how I can improve the site, drop a comment below and I’ll see what I can do!

EA Issues Status Update

EA have issued the following update via their official Facebook in regards to the server issues the game has been experiencing today, take a look;

Our game servers are currently down. We appreciate your patience as we work to get normal access restored as soon as possible.

Please note that your account, friend list, and town are all saved and will be available once service is restored.

Server Issues, Again!

Just a week since EA were hacked, their servers are down once more it appears! Now, there’s been no official word from EA or any reports of another DDOS attack on their servers so it’s likely that they are just experiencing a high volume of traffic at the moment.

I will keep an eye out for more info and will update you as best I can when more information becomes available. I will say though, that seeing as EA charge quite a bit for their premium content and being such a big company, you’d think they’d have reliable server power!

Problem With Your Christmas Gifts?

I’ve seen reports from players that they didn’t receive their Christmas gifts from EA last Thursday.

So, I contacted EA about the issue to see if they were going to implement a fix for an issue and the answer isn’t quite what I expected.

Usually when there’s a bug like this EA just issue a small game-wide fix for all players, but they’re not doing that this time. Instead they are resolving the issue on a case by case basis.

That means if you didn’t get your free gifts last week, you MUST contact EA to resolve the issue.

I’m unable to provide you with the link to contact them as I’m posting from my phone but, if you use the search bar above and type in “contact EA” it should be the first result that comes up for you.

An Update On My Redesign

As you know, a little while back I said I was going to nuke my Springfield and start again. All was going well with it, up until last week. Last week, while I was playing my wifi switched off but I thought nothing of it. When I eventually got my router back up an running though I began to notice a few problems. The most annoying one though was when I tried to place things in specific areas of town, the game would freeze for up to 20 minutes and then crash. I should mention though that the areas where it would freeze are the areas I had been working on when my wifi cut out.

So as I grew increasingly frustrated by the problem I decided to contact EA after doing the whole hard close, uninstall/reinstall thing. I got a fairly quick response from a very helpful EA tech guy but they told me that there’s nothing they’re able to do for me. It turns out that my internet cut out at the wrong time as my game was being uploaded onto their servers, Therefore, because it was interrupted, the save file is corrupt and there’s only one way the tech could think of to fix it – NUKING!

So now I have to nuke my town again, which is by no means the fault of EA as they really tried to help me. Before I nuke it though, I will upload some of the screenshots I had planned on sharing when I was completely finished. That way, I can use them as a reference if I need to.

So here’s a heads up to my neighbours – over the next few hours I will be taking notes of where things are placed in my Springfield and drawing out a general layout of my town to speed up the process of designing. I plan on nuking either tomorrow night or Saturday afternoon and really hope to have it done on Monday by doing some marathon designing sessions at the weekend. I’m really sorry about this guys but this time it really can’t be helped!

I’ll upload the pictures to a new post within the next hour or so
